Quick answer: The 80-series Voxy, Noah and Esquire are the same van underneath, so most mechanical parts are shared, while bumpers, grilles, headlights and some trim are badge-specific. Search by chassis code (ZRR80 2.0 petrol 2WD, ZRR85 4WD, ZWR80 1.8 hybrid), and for body parts also match the W or G letter and whether your build date is before or after the July 2017 facelift.

The Voxy, Noah and Esquire are three badges on one boxy Japanese family van, and sellers use the names interchangeably. That's handy for engine parts and a trap for body parts, where the wrong bumper, headlight or grille is an expensive return. Three names, one van, and one very confused search bar.
This guide covers the 80 series (January 2014 to late 2021), the generation most import owners in Australia, New Zealand and the UK are driving. Toyota never sold it new in any of those countries, so your chassis code is the key to buying the right part.
Voxy, Noah or Esquire? It barely matters for mechanical parts
The 80 series came in three badges:
- Voxy: the sportier-looking one
- Noah: the friendlier-looking one
- Esquire: the premium version, added in late 2014
Underneath, they're the same van, and most mechanical parts are shared across all three. Bumpers, grilles, headlights and some trim are badge-specific, so for those you need to know exactly which one you have.
Reading your chassis code
Your frame number starts with the chassis code, for example ZRR80-0123456. The main codes are:
| Code | Engine | Drive |
|---|---|---|
| ZRR80 | 2.0 L petrol (3ZR-FAE) | 2WD |
| ZRR85 | 2.0 L petrol (3ZR-FAE) | 4WD |
| ZWR80 | 1.8 L hybrid (2ZR-FXE) | 2WD |
On this model, 2WD vs 4WD is shown by 80 vs 85.
You'll also see a letter after the number, such as ZRR80W or ZRR80G. It doesn't tell you the badge or the drivetrain. It follows the body: W codes cover the wider aero-body grades (around 1,735 mm wide, such as the Voxy ZS), while G codes cover the narrower standard body (around 1,695 mm). That's why a Voxy can be either a W or a G, and why the letter matters when you order bumpers, side skirts and aero parts.
Paste your code into our free Model Code Lookup to decode it, and read more in how to read a Japanese model code.
Facelift check: the 80 series was facelifted in July 2017, with new lights, bonnet, bumpers and front guards. Use your build date when a listing says "pre-facelift" or "facelift".
Shared engines make service parts easier
- The ZWR80 hybrid uses the 2ZR-FXE, the same engine family as the third-generation Prius (ZVW30) and the Corolla Hybrid, both sold new in Australia and the UK.
- The ZRR80 / ZRR85 uses the 3ZR-FAE Valvematic 2.0, which also appeared in the European-market Avensis. It's a rarer sight on local shelves than the hybrid engine.
That means some engine service parts may be stocked locally, especially for the hybrid. As always, confirm by part number. The same engine family doesn't guarantee the same filter or plug. (Got a Prius in the driveway too? See our Prius 30 and Prius Alpha parts guide.)

Cabin air filter
Three rows of passengers and sticky little hands. Changing this one is cheap and noticeably freshens the cabin.

Spark plugs
Front brake pads
Pads can differ between petrol and hybrid, and between 2WD and 4WD. Send the seller your frame number.
→ Voxy / Noah 80 front brake pads
Wiper blades
12V battery
A weak 12V battery is common after weeks at port and in compliance. On the ZWR80 hybrid, a flat 12V battery can stop the car going into "Ready" mode. Match the part number or the Japanese size code.

Hybrid owners: don't forget the battery cooling
Like many Toyota hybrids of its era, the ZWR80 cools its hybrid battery with a fan that draws in cabin air. If the intake gets clogged with dust or pet hair, the battery runs warmer. Your owner's manual shows where the intake is. Keep it clear, and have the fan checked if it gets noisy or a hybrid warning appears.
The import-only fixes
- Radio and navigation. The Japanese head unit only covers part of the FM band and the maps are Japan-only. Fit an FM band expander, or replace the head unit with an Android unit and a Voxy/Noah fascia kit. In New Zealand, replacing the head unit is the regulator's recommended fix. → Voxy / Noah 80 head unit fascia kits → FM band expanders
- Reverse camera. Many Voxy and Noah vans have a factory camera. You can usually keep it with a new head unit by using an adapter. → Reverse camera adapters for Toyota import head units
- Steering wheel controls. → Steering wheel control interfaces
- Child seats. In Australia, make sure the anchorages are correct for local child restraints. → Child restraint anchor bolt kits
- English manual. Useful for the hybrid system, the sliding doors and the warning lights. → English owner's manuals for Japanese imports

What about the 90 series?
The current Voxy and Noah (90 series, from January 2022) sit on Toyota's newer TNGA platform, and the petrol model gets a new 2.0 L engine (M20A-FKS). Body, chassis and most service parts for the 80 series won't fit. If you've imported a 90 series, search by its own chassis code (MZRA90/95 or ZWR90/95).
Buying Voxy and Noah parts on eBay
- Search the chassis code, such as "ZWR80 cabin filter". Sellers use Voxy, Noah and Esquire interchangeably, so try all three.
- For body parts, include the badge, the W or G letter and the facelift: "Voxy ZRR80W facelift headlight".
- Send your frame number to the seller for brakes, suspension and electrical parts.
- Compare the total cost with shipping and GST included.

FAQ
Are Voxy and Noah parts the same?
Underneath, the Voxy, Noah and Esquire are the same van and most mechanical parts are shared. Bumpers, grilles, headlights and some trim are badge-specific, so match the badge for those.
What does the W or G mean in ZRR80W and ZRR80G?
It follows the body, not the badge or drivetrain. W codes cover the wider aero-body grades (around 1,735 mm wide) and G codes the narrower standard body (around 1,695 mm), which matters when you order bumpers, side skirts and aero parts.
How do I know if my Voxy or Noah is 4WD?
On this model, 2WD vs 4WD is shown by 80 vs 85 in the chassis code: ZRR80 is the 2WD petrol and ZRR85 the 4WD petrol. The ZWR80 hybrid is 2WD.
When was the 80-series Voxy and Noah facelifted?
In July 2017, with new lights, bonnet, bumpers and front guards. Use your build date when a listing says "pre-facelift" or "facelift".
Do 80-series parts fit a 90-series Voxy or Noah?
Body, chassis and most service parts won't fit. The 90 series (from January 2022) sits on Toyota's newer TNGA platform, so search by its own chassis code (MZRA90/95 or ZWR90/95).
